Photographs of York - Treasurer's House

The ghost of George Aislaby is said to haunt this building. He was mortally wounded during a duel over a woman and was carried here, which was his home to die.
Most recently in the early 1950's, Harry Martindale was working as an apprentice installing central heating piping in one of its cellars.
At first he heard the sound of a trumpet , then came the sound of a brass band getting louder and louder. Next minute a horses head appeared through the wall, which caused Harry to fall from his ladder in shock. A Roman guy was seated upon this horse and it was followed by a group of soldiers with their heads hung low shuffling along.
Imagine seeing that?
